Guide to Filing an Insurance Complaint for Skin Condition Patients & Providers

Papers Derma Care Access Network Guide · August 2022

If you or your patient has been denied access to treatment, you have the right to file a complaint with your state’s insurance department.

This guide walks through what to try with the insurer first, what information to have ready (patient and provider contacts, plan details, policy and claim numbers, and the resolution you want), and how to share a copy with DCAN so the coalition can track systemic access problems.
